French commanders in the Crimea have generally been seen more favourably to their British counterparts, and this pack collects three of the best-known. Whether you field them as their historical namesakes, or as ‘generic’ commanders, they’ll ensure your troops are properly led.

• Marshal Pellisier, commander of the French forces from 1855 and the victor of the Siege of Sevastopol.
• General Bosquet, whose division led the French attack at the Alma and who, upon witnessing the Charge of the Light Brigade, uttered the immortal words: “C’est magnifique, mais ce n’est pas la guerre…”
• Captain Thomas, Bosquet’s aide-de-camp.
